Explain please?

You place the tone generator at the jack and then use the probe at the end of the cables see which one omitts the tone generator sound.

A wifi analyzer isn't the right answer the punchdown tool would be used to connect the cable to the switch and a loopback plug would be used to see if a the computer could send and recieve. the question asks what tool would Joe use to determine which cable so that would be using the toner probe to locate which loose cable needs punched down on the switch.
